Indian Classical Music

India has a rich culture in music and it’s a birth place to many famous instruments. But with the influence of modern instruments, wide varieties of old instruments have gone silent and ended up in museums only, Now a day’s very few would like to listen shehnai in marriages the influence of western music is such that we are forgetting our own classical music and the sad part of the story is that those who are still playing those old music they are actually becoming the victim of the same because now a days most of the people don’t like Indian classical music, so today I am dedicating this post of mine to the Indian classical music. I would like to thanks Musician Naviin Gandhav who is a true Indian music lover; he is working hard for keeping our Indian music alive. Today I will express the pain of Indian music through my poem.

Naviin Gandharv

  1. I can’t read Hindi so unfortunately I was unable to fully appreciate your poem, but nevertheless I fully agree with what you have written in English above. Some songs in the classical style using classical instruments (i.e: not Westernised dance tracks) are the most melodic and rich compositions I have ever heard. The sort of thing you can listen to and say: “Yes… That’s music. That’s a work of art.” 😊
